What makes Tessera Memory Books unique?
Tessera's "Book plus Insert Pages" concept is what differentiates our Memory Books from other alternatives.  We designed a memory book that is complete with basic pages that could apply to most people.  However, the days of Dad, Mom and 2.3 children are behind us.  Families of the 21st century are unique and blended, yet memory books and journals haven't evolved with those changes. We started Tessera to meet the needs of today's families.

To help you customize a book that fits your unique life, we designed Tessera Memory Book Insert Packs; sets of 12 perfectly matched pages to tailor your book to your life.  You can capture the special experience of adopting a child from a foreign country, or the details of your Destination Wedding.  Find the specialized Tessera Memory Book Insert pack that completes your book.  Some people buy several inserts, others don't buy any.  It's all about making it yours.  On average, Tessera sells two inserts pack with each Memory Book. 


What are the actual dimensions of the Memory Book pages?
The book itself is approximately 12.5" wide by 9.75" tall (landscape).  Due to the binding, the actual available page size is 11.5" by 9.5".


How many pages can the book hold?
Each Tessera Memory Book comes with 42 pages which fit perfectly on our screw posts. However, if you decide to add a Tessera Insert pack, an additional 12 pages, simply remove the cardboard spacer and add the additional pages.  Using screw post extensions, available via the website, you can add up to three insert packs to your book. If you would like larger screw post extensions (holding approximately seven inserts), call the toll free number (888) 454-0094 or email us at customerservice@tesserapublishing.com and we will get you what you need.


How many Insert Packs can I add to my Memory Book?
You can easily add two insert Packs to your Memory Book without using Tessera Screw Post extensions.  The book is designed with two small cardboard spacers built in to the binding.  Simply remove one cardboard spacer to add one Insert Pack; remove both to add two Insert Packs. 

If you are adding three Insert Packs, we recommend leaving the cardboard spacers in place and using a 5mm Screw Post Extension.


I am having difficulty getting my Screw Posts open.  Are there any tricks?
Some times the screw posts can be stubborn.  We suggest you use your left thumbs to push into the “T” side of the screw post while using a flat-head screw driver to unscrew the opposite side of the screw post with your right hand. Be sure to turn the screw driver in a counter-clockwise direction (to the left) to unscrew.   

You kind of need to push the two ends of the screw post together to create the friction to unscrew them –otherwise you’ll end up turning the entire post and not unscrewing them. Make sure you have dry hands when you do this –moisturized hands won’t be able to grip the “T” side of the screw post.    If you have one of those rubber gribber kitchen gadgets used to open jars, that can make a difference.

In the end, if you cannot get your screw posts apart, we will replace your book for you.  Sometimes even we can't get them open!


How can I protect my Tessera Memory Book from getting dirty?
Never use alchohol, cleaning solvents, oil varnishes or polishes.  Treat your silk or cloth book with Scotch Guard to protect against stains.  Use a magnetic wiping cloth to dust.
